What remote hospitality looks like

This isn't a regular hospitality gig. You'll live on-site, work with a small team, and operate in some of the most remote corners of the country. The hours can be long. The conditions aren't always comfortable. But if you want work that actually means something — where you're part of a community, not just a roster — remote hospitality delivers something no city job can.

We recruit for luxury lodges in the Kimberley and Top End, wilderness retreats in Tasmania, outback stations in the Territory, island resorts along the Great Barrier Reef — and every variety of remote hospitality property in between. If you've got the skills and the temperament for it, we'd love to hear from you.

Roles we place

Lodge Managers & General Managers

Run the whole show. Guest experience, team leadership, operations.

Head Chefs & Sous Chefs

Feed the team and the guests. Often remote kitchens with limited supply chains.

Guides & Activity Leaders

Wildlife, bush walks, cultural tours, fishing, diving. The guest-facing stars.

Operations & Maintenance

Keep the property running. Power, water, vehicles, grounds.

Food & Beverage

Service, bar, wine, guest dining experiences.

Front of House & Guest Experience

Reservations, arrivals, guest relations.

Housekeeping & Accommodation

Cleaning, linen, presentation. The bar runs high at premium-rate properties.

Working Couples

Couple-friendly roles — management partnerships, chef + front of house, lodge-manager teams. We place couples into properties built around them.

What to expect

The good

  • Live where most people only visit
  • Tight-knit teams that become like family
  • Accommodation and meals usually included
  • Strong saving potential — most of your costs covered while you're posted
  • Build a career with real responsibility, fast

The real

  • Limited phone and internet in many locations
  • Long hours during peak season
  • Shared accommodation is common
  • You're away from friends and family for extended periods
  • Not every property is luxury — some are rustic and remote

We're upfront about both sides because we've lived them. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, you'll love it.

Preparing for remote work

New to remote hospitality? Here are some essentials:

  • RSA/RSG certification — Required in most states for serving alcohol. Get it before you apply.
  • National Police Check — Most properties require one. Apply via the AFP.
  • Working With Children Check — Some family-friendly properties require this.
  • First Aid Certificate — Highly recommended for remote locations.
  • Visa requirements — If you're on a working holiday visa, check your conditions for regional work.
  • What to pack — We'll send you a checklist once you're placed. Every property is different.
